Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC runs the only Ontario lobby that opens and renders for a Canadian visitor. It has the highest-rated iOS app in the province and six deposit methods including both Amex and Trustly online banking – and a Help centre link that leads to an empty page.
How We Checked BetRivers
BetRivers is the one operator in this group whose Ontario product we could actually see. The lobby at on.betrivers.ca returns a 403 to any connection outside Canada – including its own robots.txt and stylesheets – but it opens fully from a Canadian one, and unlike its rivals it renders. So the screenshots below are the real product, not help centre articles about it.
Is BetRivers Legal in Ontario?
Yes. BetRivers is listed in the iGaming Ontario register under Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC, authorised for both Casino and Sports Betting, with betrivers.ca as its declared site.
The terms name the entity as “License Account Holder” and give its registered address as 1969 Upper Water Street, Suite 1300, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Gaming Regulator is the AGCO, the Gaming Jurisdiction is the Province of Ontario, and the operating relationship is stated plainly: “iGaming Ontario (iGO) has contracted RSI to operate the Services.” You must be 19 or older.
Three different corporate names appear across BetRivers’ Ontario footprint, and it is worth keeping them straight:

The postal address for player support, meanwhile, is in Chicago. None of that is improper – it is how a US-headquartered group structures a Canadian licence – but the Ontario entity is the Halifax one, and it is the only one the regulator recognises.
As with every operator we have reviewed here, no AGCO registration number is published. We checked the source: the AGCO’s own page on registered internet gaming operators does not publish numbers and simply refers readers to the iGaming Ontario directory, which lists entity, verticals and site but no number. The BetRivers lobby carries no licence number either.
The Help Centre That Is Not There
This deserves its own heading because it is unusual and it affects everything a careful reader can find out.
BetRivers’ Ontario navigation bar has a Help centre link. Follow it and you get a page that renders the words “Help Center” and nothing else. The page does not even appear in BetRivers’ own sitemap, which lists exactly eleven Ontario pages, among them get-started, all-games, cashier, my-account, signup, landing, sportsbook, id-verification and eula.
The practical effect is that BetRivers publishes far less than its competitors. BetMGM runs 1,529 Ontario help pages; DraftKings publishes 445 Canadian articles. BetRivers publishes a Get Started page and a legal document.
That legal document has four tabs – Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Player Protection and Sportsbetting Rules. The first three open. The fourth – the tab that would carry the cash out rules and the parlay ceilings – stays inside the account. So on those subjects this review says nothing, because BetRivers publishes nothing outside it.
BetRivers Sports Betting
Because we could open the lobby, we can describe what is actually there rather than what a help article claims.
On Cash Out we have to stop. There is not one reference to cash out anywhere in BetRivers’ accessible Ontario documentation, and the tab that would carry the rules does not open. We are not going to tell you it exists, and we are not going to tell you it does not.
That is a real gap. bet365 publishes its cash out conditions, its parlay ceilings and its settlement rules in full. Here, the equivalent document is behind a login.

Both American Express and Trustly online banking is a combination nobody else here offers. DraftKings has Amex but no online banking; FanDuel has Trustly but no Amex.
On withdrawals, BetRivers publishes a claim rather than a table. Its RUSHPAY feature states that “over 80% of withdrawal requests [are] approved in real time”, and the account screen shows how much you can take out instantly. That is a better headline than any competitor offers – and it is the only figure published. There are no per-method processing times, no minimums and no maximums outside the cashier, which needs a login. An 80% approval rate tells you nothing about the other 20%.
One more gap on the deposit side: we have not found a published general minimum, and the cashier itself needs a login.

BetRivers publishes a telephone number, an email address with a stated response time, and a chat link in the navigation bar.

A published two-hour email target is the most specific support commitment we have seen from an Ontario operator – FanDuel says 12 to 24 hours. Together with BetMGM, BetRivers is one of the few books in our reviews you can telephone. Opening hours for the phone and chat are not published.

4.8 on iOS is the highest rating we have measured at any Ontario operator, above FanDuel’s 4.78 and bet365’s 4.7 – though on a much smaller base of 4,058 ratings against FanDuel’s 43,517. The Google Play listing did not expose a numeric rating we could read reliably, so we do not quote one. The comparison worth making is with PointsBet, whose single app scores 4.38 on iOS and 2.74 on Google Play – a gap of more than a point and a half between two stores serving the same software.
One detail from the store listing: the app is shared across two provinces, and it says so – “Must be 18+ in Alberta and 19+ in Ontario.”
Responsible Gambling

BetRivers is careful about the distinction that trips people up: “Registering with BetGuard does not modify or cancel any self-exclusion you have with RSI, and registering with RSI’s self-exclusion does not modify or cancel your enrollment in BetGuard.” BetGuard is available at BetGuard.ca to anyone 19 or older, with or without an account.
The published support resources go further than most – ConnexOntario, Gamblers Anonymous Toronto, Gamtalk, self-help gambling tools, and two credit counselling services, which is a recognition that gambling harm and debt travel together.
On account security, three failed logins lock the account and ten consecutive failures lock it for fifteen minutes. Optional strong authentication sends a PIN by email, and BetRivers monitors last login time and IP address for unauthorised use.
Geolocation
Desktop play requires a browser plugin that downloads the first time you load a game – pop-ups must be enabled for it to install – and mobile uses the device’s location services. The Get Started page detects your browser and walks you through it with screenshots.
BetRivers does not name its geolocation supplier. BetMGM names GeoComply and Geoguard; FanDuel’s plugin links point at GeoComply’s own servers. Here the installer is simply called Geolocation_Desktop, and no vendor appears anywhere – so we do not name one.
There is also no published policy on VPNs, proxies or remote desktop software, which every other operator in this group spells out in detail.
One genuinely useful clarification from the Player Protection terms: you can access your account from outside Ontario – you just cannot wager. “In order to participate in wagering games offered through the Services (but not otherwise access or use your account), you must be physically located in the Province of Ontario.”
The Casino
The Ontario casino lobby is organised by category rather than by studio: Jackpots, Hot Games, New Games, High Limit, Exclusives, Big Names and Game Shows, with a shelf for BetRivers Exclusive Games.
No supplier names appear anywhere in the lobby, which is unusual – most Ontario casinos put a provider filter somewhere. The only primary document naming studios is a Rush Street Interactive press release from July 2022, announcing content from Bragg Gaming Group through Oryx Gaming and Spin Games, plus the Atomic Slot Lab title Egyptian Magic as a BetRivers exclusive. That was four years ago and 22 games, so we present it as history rather than as the 2026 catalogue.
Security and Reputation
Final Verdict
BetRivers has the best-designed product here and the thinnest documentation.
What you get is a phone line, a two-hour email target, six deposit routes including Amex and online banking, the highest-rated iOS app in the province, and a lobby that a Canadian visitor can simply open and use.
What you do not get is a help centre, published withdrawal times, or access to the rules that decide how your bets settle.

Overall we place BetRivers at 4.0 out of 5 for Ontario bettors.
Who it suits: anyone who wants to phone or email a person and get an answer the same morning, Amex holders, and CFL and CEBL followers. Who it does not: anyone who reads the rules before staking, anyone who needs to know when a withdrawal will land, and anyone who wants a cash out they can rely on being there.

Alternatives to BetRivers
If you want the published rulebook BetRivers lacks, Caesars writes settlement rules for around fifty sports and prices every payment method in the open – though its Ontario pages carry a good deal of American boilerplate. If the missing rulebook is what bothers you, bet365 publishes its cash out conditions, its exact Same Game Parlay ceilings and every cashier limit in Canadian dollars, and BetMGM goes further still with published parlay pay tables and a phone line of its own.
