How We Checked BetNova

This review is built on primary sources only. We opened BetNova’s Ontario site from a Canadian connection, read its published legal pages, and cross-checked the operator against the provincial register and both app stores.

• We confirmed the operator, the brand and the categories in the iGaming Ontario directory, checked at the time of this review.
• We read the terms, the responsible gaming page and the contact page on the operator’s own site, and quote them directly.
• We compared BetNova’s published documents line by line against another AGCO-registered book, and the result is the most useful thing on this page.
• We pulled the app version, release date, size, age rating and review count from Apple’s public listing, and confirmed the Android build on Google Play.

Everything below is dated 8 September 2026. Where the operator does not publish a number, we say so rather than fill the gap.

Is BetNova Legal in Ontario?

Yes. BetNova is operated by Goldrush Canada Limited under AGCO registration OPIG1372172, with an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.

The provincial register lists the brand in both the casino and the sport and event betting categories, so a single account covers each side.

You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to place a bet.

A Toronto Company, Not a Maltese One

This is where BetNova is genuinely unusual, and it is worth a paragraph of its own.

Goldrush Canada Limited is registered in Canada, company number 1442415-8, at 4789 Yonge Street, Toronto. That is the company holding OPIG1372172.

Most of the mid-size brands on the Ontario register are local arms of European parents – TonyBet, ToonieBet and Betinia are all Maltese companies. BetNova’s licence is held by a company incorporated here, with an address you could walk to.

The terms follow through: clause 2.8 puts them under “the provincial laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada”, with proceedings “brought exclusively before the Canadian Courts”.

The Same Rulebook as Titan Play

Here is the finding we did not expect. BetNova and Titan Play are separate companies with separate AGCO registrations – and they are running the same platform, with the same documents.

We noticed it in the site’s robots file and then went looking for proof.

What We Compared

Seven independent signals pointing the same way. This is a white-label platform serving two operators, which is ordinary in this industry and almost never disclosed to players.

Why It Matters to You

It is not a scandal and it is not a loophole. Both books are separately registered, and each answers to the AGCO on its own licence.

What it changes is how you shop. If you did not get on with one of them, the other will feel familiar, because the cashier, the tools and the rules are built from the same parts.

And if you hold accounts at both, treat them as one experience with two logins rather than two genuinely different books.

Where the Two Books Actually Differ

Same platform does not mean same product. These are the differences we could verify, and they are the reasons to pick one over the other.

The split is clean. BetNova is the better front end – Android, esports, a company you can look up here – and Titan Play is the more transparent cashier, because it tells you what it will pay out and how often.

If you want one sentence: BetNova is easier to use, Titan Play is easier to check.

BetNova Sports Betting

The sportsbook covers what Ontario bets on, and the operator names the leagues itself: NHL, NBA, CFL, MLB, MLS and the English Premier League, across ice hockey, soccer, football and baseball.

The board is a standard three-column layout with the slip on the right, and the site publishes a live betting section alongside the pre-match one.

The named features are the ones the platform ships: Cash Out, Early Payout, Event Builder and same-game parlays.

Esports Has Its Own Section

BetNova gives esports a top-level menu item of its own, which its platform sibling does not.

That is a small structural difference, but it is the clearest sign that the two books are not identical products – one has chosen to put esports in front of you, the other has not.

We could not count markets or measure a margin on any fixture, because the priced board needs a session. We are not going to publish a market count we did not count.

BetNova Casino

The casino is the larger half of the site and the better documented one, because the game URLs name their studios.

Categories run to top games, new games, hot games, megaways, classic slots, video slots and table games, with live dealer on a separate menu.

The Studios We Could Confirm

We took these from the game links themselves rather than from a logo strip, so every one is verifiable.

That is a strong shelf for a small brand. Pragmatic, Play’n GO, Nolimit City and Evolution are the studios the biggest Ontario casinos lead with.

What we could not do is count the catalogue. The total sits behind a session, and we are not going to guess it.

BetNova Payment Methods

BetNova publishes its deposit methods and their limits in an unexpected place: the screenshots on its own App Store listing.

Two things stand out. The $10 minimum is the market standard and half of what TonyBet asks. And Interac e-Transfer caps at $2,500, half of what the cards allow – the reverse of the usual pattern, where Interac is the generous route.

Apple Pay sitting in the “recommended” slot is worth noting too – it is still the exception among Ontario books, and our payment methods guide sets out which others take it.

The BetNova App

BetNova ships on both platforms, which its platform sibling does not, and the iOS listing is very new.

Three ratings is far too small a sample to judge an app on, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is that the score is low and the app is three months old.

Two Stores, Two Companies

A detail we could not explain, and would rather flag than smooth over.

The AGCO registration is held by Goldrush Canada Limited, the Toronto company. The App Store listing is published by Goldrush Group (Pty) Ltd – a South African entity.

Group companies routinely publish apps on behalf of local subsidiaries, so this is not irregular. It does mean the name on the app is not the name on the licence, which is worth knowing when you are checking you have the right download.

Customer Support

Support runs through live chat, reachable from the contact page, and the app listing states help is available 24/7.

BetNova does not publish a support email address or a phone number on its contact page. That is thinner than most of the register: ToonieBet answers a phone line and Titan Play, on the same platform, publishes two email addresses.

The site does carry an About Us page and a Careers page, which are small signals of a locally staffed operation rather than a brand parked on a licence.

Responsible Gambling and the 19+ Rule

BetNova carries the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard seals on every page, and its tool set is thorough.

Loosening a limit waits out a cooling-off period while tightening one applies immediately, which is the behaviour the provincial standards require.

The page also runs a section debunking common gambling myths, starting with the idea that the more you gamble the likelier you are to win big.

That is not a required feature and few operators bother with it. It is the clearest sign on the site that someone wrote this page rather than pasted it – even if, as we found, most of the rest of it is shared with another brand.

The Terms Are There, but They Do Not Open

This is the one real frustration of reviewing BetNova, and it is worth explaining rather than hiding in a bullet.

The terms page loads its first two sections – purpose and acceptance – and then lists the rest as closed headings: Player Accounts, Bets, Deposits and Withdrawals, Player Protection, Account Closure, Dormant, Complaints and Disputes.

Those headings are the table of contents of a full contract. The text underneath only loads when you click, which means the numbers a bettor most wants – maximum winnings, withdrawal ceilings, payout times, dormancy – are not readable in a single pass.

Its platform sibling publishes the same contract as one continuous page, where we read every clause. So this is a presentation choice on BetNova’s side, not a missing document.

It matters because a contract you have to click through eleven times is a contract most people will not read. If you open an account here, open those sections first – especially Deposits and Withdrawals.

Final Verdict

BetNova is the rare Ontario book whose licence is held by a company incorporated in this province, at an address in Toronto, under terms that answer to Canadian courts.

Around that sits a capable white-label product: a strong studio list, deposits from $10, Apple Pay and Google Pay, apps on both platforms and a complete set of player-protection tools.

Overall we place BetNova at 3.5 out of 5 for Ontario bettors. The casino and the corporate footing are ahead of the brand’s size; the support page and the closed cashier hold it back.

Who It Suits Today

BetNova suits a casino-first player who wants recognisable studios, a $10 entry point and the option of paying with Apple Pay or Google Pay.

It suits you less if you need to email support, if you want a payout window in writing before you deposit, or if you bet large enough that a $2,500 Interac ceiling gets in your way.

And if you already play at Titan Play, know what you are buying: the same platform, in different colours, run by a different company.

Alternatives to BetNova

If the missing support channels or the unread cashier stop you, two other AGCO-registered books answer the same brief.

Titan Play is the closest comparison by construction – the same platform and the same documents – and it publishes its withdrawal ceilings and two email addresses, though its own app rates lower still.

ToonieBet answers a phone line, publishes a 72-business-hour processing commitment, and states its deposit and withdrawal limits on a public page.

Both are local entities of European parents, which is the norm among the register’s mid-size brands rather than a warning.
