LeoVegas is a legally registered Ontario casino and sportsbook, run by Tigergen Limited under AGCO registration OPIG1337312 and owned by MGM Resorts International. We found the strongest in-house casino studio on the Ontario register – real exclusives, Evolution tables, live jackpot totals on the page – alongside a competent sportsbook with a 12-leg BetBuilder. The catch is the cashier: no published deposit minimum, no phone line, and a 5% charge on money you withdraw without betting it.
How We Checked LeoVegas
This review is built on primary sources only. We opened LeoVegas from a Canadian connection, on the Ontario site the regulator lists, and read its own pages: the sportsbook board, the casino lobby, the support panel, the full Ontario terms and both app store listings.
Is LeoVegas Legal in Ontario?
Yes. LeoVegas is run by Tigergen Limited under AGCO registration OPIG1337312, as a registered agent of iGaming Ontario.
The public directory lists Tigergen Limited with two gaming sites, not one: LeoVegas, in both the casino and sports betting categories, and Royal Panda, casino only. Same licence, same company, two front doors.
Tigergen is a Maltese company registered at Level 7, The Plaza Business Centre, Triq Bisazza, Sliema. What the AGCO regulates is the Ontario-facing operation, not where the parent is incorporated.
There is a bigger name behind it. LeoVegas was founded in Sweden in 2012 and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM Resorts International – the site says so itself, and the footer carries an MGM line. That matters less for your bet slip than people assume, but it does tell you the balance sheet is not thin.
Two rules follow, and they are not negotiable. You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario. Your account runs in Canadian dollars.
LeoVegas Sports Betting
Here is the honest framing: LeoVegas is a casino that also takes bets, not a sportsbook that happens to have slots. The brand made its name as the self-styled King of Mobile Casino, and the product still leads with the lobby.
That said, the sportsbook is a real one, and it is built on a platform that knows what it is doing.
Which Sports You Can Bet On
The navigation puts six sports up front: Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Ice Hockey and Tennis. That is a deliberately Ontario-shaped shortlist – the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB are all there, and soccer leads because soccer is what fills the board in August.
Behind the “All” menu the list is longer. LeoVegas names boxing and UFC, Formula 1, and – genuinely – chess, plus a separate esports category.
You can pin up to 10 sports to a favourites list with the star icon, which is a small thing that saves real time if you bet the same two leagues every week.
What the Board Actually Looked Like
We are writing this in late August, and the board reflects it. That is worth showing, because a review that pretends every sport is in season all year is a review nobody checked.
On the day, MLB carried the full slate – eleven games, priced from early afternoon through the evening. Soccer had the Champions League and Conference League qualifiers, the Eredivisie and the EFL Cup. Ice hockey had no fixtures at all: the only NHL market on the page was a Winner – Including Playoffs outright, with the Panthers at 7.00 and the Hurricanes at 8.50.
So if you are shopping for a hockey book in August, every Ontario book looks thin. Come October, this one fills up.
BetBuilder: Up to 12 Legs in One Game
This is the feature LeoVegas leans on, and the number is specific: the BetBuilder lets you combine up to 12 different outcomes from a single game.
In practice that means goals, corners, cards and goalscorers stacked into one price on a soccer match, or the equivalent on the North American sports. Twelve legs is a high ceiling – most books cap you well below that.
Same Game Parlay, Already Built
The board also does the work for you. A Same Game Parlay row sits under the day’s fixtures with ready-made three-leg combinations and the combined price already calculated.
The four on the page that afternoon ran from 3.60 to 5.50 – full-time result, over 2.5 goals and a named goalscorer, in one click. Add to betslip takes the suggestion as-is; Build Your Bet drops you into the builder with that fixture loaded.
Live Betting: Statistics, Not Streams
Live betting is here and it is quick. LeoVegas describes betting on every point in tennis or the next corner in soccer, backed by live statistics in real time.
Note what is missing from that sentence. There is no live video streaming – you follow the game through a stats feed, not a picture. If watching the match on the same screen as your slip matters to you, this is not the book for it.

This is where the operator is genuinely strong, and it would be dishonest to bury it under the sportsbook.
How the Lobby Is Built
The shelves are Popular, Exclusives & Originals, LeoJackpot, Newest Games, Feature Buy, Slots, Megaways, Crash & Mine, Jackpots, Table Games, Classic Slots and Instant Win.
Two of those are worth pausing on. Top 10 Games in Ontario ranks by what Ontario players are actually spinning, not by a global chart. And every single tile names the studio underneath it – Pragmatic Play, Octoplay, Games Global, Williams – so you always know whose maths you are playing.
LeoVegas Studios: Games You Get Nowhere Else
LeoVegas runs its own game studio, and the exclusives shelf is not a marketing label with three titles on it. The Golden Lion 2, Sweet Sweet Caramel: Hold n Win, Amped Up, Capybara Carnival, Cash Goal, Curupira, Hoodlums Bark City, Axl Striker: Mechageddon, Greedy Galaxy – all tagged exclusive, all from LeoVegas Studios.
Whether an in-house slot is better than a Pragmatic slot is a matter of taste. But you cannot get these at the book next door, and very few Ontario operators can say that about anything.
LeoJackpot: Four Tiers, Live Numbers
The jackpot ladder runs MEGA, MAJOR, MINOR and MINI, and the site publishes the running totals on the page. When we looked, MEGA stood at $725,922.71, MAJOR at $56,890.11, MINOR at $428.46 and MINI at $44.28.
Numbers on the page beat “life-changing jackpots” as a claim. You can see what is in the pot before you decide it is worth chasing.
Software Providers
The provider list is long and it is visible without an account: Pragmatic Play, Games Global, Evolution, NetEnt, Playtech, Hacksaw Gaming, Playson, Octoplay, Booming Games, Iron Dog Studio, Print Studios, Gaming Corps, Slingo Originals, Switch Studios, 1×2 Gaming, Williams and LeoVegas Studios.
The Evolution relationship is the one that stands out: LeoVegas says Evolution is its partner for the entire LeoVegas Exclusives table game selection, which is why the live lobby has tables you will not find on a rival’s Evolution shelf.
Payment Methods
This is the weakest part of the operation, and not because of the methods themselves.
What You Can Use in Ontario
The Ontario footer lists them plainly: Visa, Mastercard, Interac, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer and eCashout. Interac is there, which is the one Canadians actually ask about, and Apple Pay and Google Pay both being present is more than most books manage.

What LeoVegas Does Not Tell You
Now the problem. LeoVegas does not publish a minimum deposit, a maximum deposit or a withdrawal minimum for Ontario anywhere a logged-out player can read them.
We looked properly. There is no payment methods page on the Ontario site. The Ontario terms set out withdrawal procedure but no amounts. And the limits table you land on from the help centre belongs to a different market entirely – its own footer names the UK Gambling Commission, not the AGCO – so the numbers on it should not be trusted for an Ontario account.
Compare that with PowerPlay, which publishes a $10 minimum on every method and the exact maximum per provider. Here you find out at the cashier, after you have registered.
Withdrawals: The Terms Are Clear, At Least
Credit where it is due – the Ontario terms are specific about timing. Clause 16.3 says LeoVegas will strive to process a withdrawal within 24 hours, and that in all cases it will be processed within five working days.
Clause 16.4 pays you back through the same method you deposited with, wherever possible.
And read clause 16.8 before you park money you do not intend to bet: LeoVegas reserves the right to charge 5% on withdrawals of deposited funds that have never been wagered, on amounts of CAD $10 or more. Deposit, change your mind, withdraw untouched – that can cost you.
If You Walk Away for a Year
Clause 18 is the one nobody reads. An account is inactive after twelve months without a login if it still holds real money. LeoVegas must warn you 30 days beforehand, may then freeze the account, and will make reasonable efforts to return the balance to you.
That is a fairer inactivity clause than some, but it is a clock, and it is running.
The LeoVegas App
The app is a single download that carries casino, live casino and sports betting together – one login, one balance, three verticals.
The ratings are the problem.

A 2.6 across 53 ratings is a poor score, and it is not a rounding error on a handful of votes. Five ratings on Google Play tells you the Android side has barely been picked up at all.
There is a wrinkle worth knowing. The Play Store listing describes a casino app and never mentions sports betting, while the App Store listing describes casino, live casino and sports. The site’s own sportsbook page says the app is “available on Apple devices”, then its FAQ two screens later says “Android or iPhone, take your pick”. If you are an Android bettor, check the app does what you need before you rely on it.
For the brand that built itself on being the King of Mobile, that is an odd place to end up.
Customer Support
Two channels, and the footer badge says 24/7.
Live chat is the fast lane. Email is support-on@leovegas.com – note the “-on”, it is an Ontario-specific address rather than a shared global inbox.
There is no phone number. This is where the site contradicts itself again: the sportsbook page promises agents ready “around the clock via live chat, email or phone”, and the actual contact panel offers no phone at all. We went looking for one and there is not one to find.
One more snag. The Help Centre link in the Ontario footer points at the en-co help centre, not an Ontario one, and that help centre’s own footer cites the Malta Gaming Authority. You can still get answers there – just be careful, because the limits and rules on those pages are written for other markets.
Ontario Only: How the Geo-Fence Works
It is strict, and we tested it. From a non-Canadian connection the Ontario site loads its shell and then stops with a flat “We’re sorry! Unfortunately, LeoVegas isn’t available in your country.”
Your account does not travel. If you bet from Toronto and then fly to Buffalo, you are locked out until you come back.
Security and Reputation
The footer carries the standard set: SSL encryption, a safe and secure payments badge, the iGaming Ontario seal, ConnexOntario and BetGuard, Ontario’s opt-out scheme for online gambling.
Responsible gaming tools are set out properly in clause 19 of the terms. You can set deposit limits and loss limits over 24 hours, seven days or one month, all timed to Eastern Time, and if you set two overlapping limits the lower one applies. Self-exclusion is documented in the same clause.
On the industry side, LeoVegas won Best Online Casino at the 2021 Global Gaming Awards and the footer carries EGR Operator Awards seals for Mobile Operator of the Year and Online Gaming Operator of the Year. Awards are marketing, but they are checkable marketing.
Final Verdict
LeoVegas in Ontario is a very good casino with a competent sportsbook attached, wrapped in an account experience that is more opaque than it needs to be.

Overall we place LeoVegas at 3.5 out of 5 for Ontario. The casino carries the score; the cashier and the app hold it back.
Who it suits: casino-first players who want exclusives they cannot get elsewhere, Evolution tables, and a jackpot ladder with the numbers on show – and who will place the odd bet on the Jays or the Leafs from the same balance. Who it does not: serious sports bettors who want streaming, a long sports list or a phone line, and anyone who wants to know the deposit minimum before handing over ID.

Alternatives to LeoVegas
If the unpublished deposit minimum, the 5% charge on unplayed funds or the missing phone line is a dealbreaker, two other AGCO-registered books are the closest comparison. PowerPlay publishes a $10 minimum on every method and answers the phone 24/7, though its casino is nowhere near this deep and it never says how long a payout takes. TonyBet runs a far wider sports board – 177 to 219 markets on an ordinary MLB game – and publishes a 48-hour payout window, but it asks $20 to activate a payment method and has no phone line either. For a casino-led lobby without the 5% charge, Bet99 names twenty-five studios and levies no operator fees, while BetMGM publishes a telephone number and Betano has the best-rated apps of the group.
