Bally Bet prints its AGCO registration number, OPIG1242339, in the footer of every page – the easiest licence to verify in the province – and its licensee is a Toronto company. It also prints the wrong ConnexOntario helpline number on all 37 of its game pages, and its terms of service cannot be read without running the app.
How We Checked Bally Bet
Bally Bet is a rare case in Ontario: the registration is impeccable and published in full, while the marketing site around it has drifted badly out of date. Both halves of that are documented below, from the operator’s own pages.
Is Bally Bet Legal in Ontario?
Yes, and Bally Bet is more forthcoming about it than any operator we have reviewed here. It is listed in the iGaming Ontario register under Bally’s Canada Inc., authorised for both Casino and Sports Betting.
The footer carries the sentence that matters: “Bally’s Canada Inc. is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario under registration number OPIG1242339 and operates pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.”
That number is the story. Almost no Ontario operator publishes its AGCO registration number – the regulator does not print numbers in its directory, and operators rarely volunteer them. Bally Bet puts its on the bottom of every page, which makes it the easiest to verify in the province. It is not quite alone: PartySports publishes its own number, OPIG1233927, in clause one of its terms rather than in a footer. Between them they are the exceptions, and Bally Bet is the one that puts the number where you cannot miss it.
The corporate detail is equally complete. The published terms name Bally’s Canada, Inc. as an Ontario company with company number 002808336, with its principal place of business at 20 Duncan Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 3G8. You must be 19 or older and located in Ontario to wager.

A Toronto address on the licence is worth noting in itself. 888sport’s Ontario licensee sits in Gibraltar and BetRivers’ in Halifax. Bally’s is one of the few whose Ontario entity is actually in Ontario.
Is Bally Bet Leaving Ontario?
No, and it is worth addressing because the site itself invites the question. Every page of ballybet.ca now carries a navigation item reading “Now Live in Alberta”, the homepage banner promotes the Alberta launch, and the sitemap contains a full set of Alberta legal pages – terms and privacy policy among them – with no equivalent Ontario set.
The product says otherwise. The betting application’s own configuration lists exactly two supported jurisdictions:

Ontario is still there, still first, and the sportsbook page still states plainly: “Currently, we’re live and operational in Ontario.” What has happened is that Bally’s marketing attention moved to a newly opened province and Ontario stopped being refreshed. That distinction matters, because almost everything below is a symptom of the same neglect.
The Documentation Problem
This deserves its own heading, because it is the single biggest thing a careful Ontario reader needs to know about Bally Bet: the public site contradicts itself, and in one case it contradicts itself about where to get help for a gambling problem.
The Helpline Number Is Wrong on Every Game Page
Every game page on ballybet.ca carries a compliance line at the top. On all 37 of them, that line gives the wrong number for ConnexOntario, the province’s free 24/7 gambling helpline.
The banner says 1-800-531-2600. The correct number, published by ConnexOntario itself and printed correctly in the footer of that very same page, is 1-866-531-2600.
We checked eight game pages across slots, table games and live dealer. The wrong number appears twice in the markup of each; the right one appears once, further down. So a player in trouble reads the banner, dials 1-800, and does not reach the service the operator meant to send them to.
Every other operator we have reviewed here prints the ConnexOntario number correctly. This is not a matter of tone or emphasis – it is the one number on a gambling site that has to be right, and on Bally Bet’s game pages it is not.
You Cannot Read the Terms Without Running the App
The Terms of Service, the privacy policy and the responsible gambling page all sit at play.ballybet.ca, and all three are single-page applications. Requested directly, each returns the same 1,395-byte shell: “Sorry, JavaScript is required for this website to function correctly.”
They have never been archived, either. Every snapshot of the terms page in the Internet Archive – five of them, going back to April 2025 – is the same empty shell.
The practical consequence is concrete. Bally Bet publishes no maximum payout, no void or push rules, no dormant-account policy and no dispute deadline that a prospective Ontario customer can read before signing up. Compare that with 888sport, which publishes payout ceilings league by league, or BetMGM’s 1,529 Ontario help pages.
Bally Bet Sports Betting
The sportsbook is the thinner half of this product, and Bally’s own description of it is written almost entirely in generalities.
What is confirmed: moneylines, totals and spreads across football, hockey and basketball; soccer, golf and tennis; props and futures; in-game betting; and an early cash out feature. Same Game Parlays exist, though nowhere on the sportsbook page itself does Bally’s describe how they work.
What is not published anywhere: cash out rules, parlay leg limits, maximum payouts or bet limits. There is no sportsbook rulebook on the public site.
On Canadian sport specifically, Bally’s lists “football, hockey, and basketball” and mentions no Canadian league by name. There is no CFL or CEBL confirmation anywhere in the public pages, where BetRivers names both.
The Casino
The casino is the better-documented half, and it is where Bally’s own heritage shows.
The published catalogue leans on names Bally’s owns or has long distributed – 88 Fortunes, Cleopatra, Jin Ji Bao Xi, Dancing Drums Explosion, Fortune Coin, Game King Video Poker – alongside a deep Slingo shelf including Fire and Ice, Deal or No Deal, XXXtreme, Stampede and Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania. The live dealer section carries Lightning Roulette and Crazy Time, which places an Evolution feed behind it.
Every slot offers a Demo Mode playable without a wager, which is not common in Ontario, where most operators put the whole catalogue behind login.
No supplier names appear anywhere in Bally’s own copy – the studios above are inferred from the titles, not stated by the operator.
Payment Methods
Three ways in, and that is the whole list.

That is the narrowest cashier of any Ontario operator we have reviewed. BetRivers offers six methods including Amex and online banking; 888sport offers six including Apple Pay, MuchBetter and Paysafecard. Bally Bet has no Apple Pay, no Google Pay, no PayPal, no wallet of any kind and no online banking. Pre-paid cards are refused outright, and only one payment method can be active on the account at a time.
Withdrawals, Now Documented
The withdrawal side used to be a blank page. It no longer is: between June and July 2026 Bally’s rebuilt its Ontario help centre and published methods, limits and timings for all four routes out.

Three things stand out. The card routes are the fast ones – up to 24 hours, against 3-5 business days for a bank transfer, which inverts the usual Ontario pattern where cards are the slow option. EFT is a method you cannot deposit with: it exists only to take money out. And the card route pays to a “participating debit card” only – you may fund the account with a Visa credit card, but the money cannot go back the same way. Bally’s states that most withdrawals are processed within 24 hours, and publishes the seven states a request can pass through, from Submitted to Accepted, User Reversed or Expired.
There is one tension worth naming. Bally’s Game in Good Hands page promises: “You don’t need to worry about any caps on your winnings or withdrawal fees – no such things exist here.” The help centre now publishes a ceiling of $10,000 per transaction, in both directions. The two statements are not strictly contradictory – a per-transaction limit is not a cap on winnings, and no fee is charged either way – but a five-figure win leaves in instalments, and the promise does not say so.
The $10 floor and the $10,000 ceiling are identical on every method, deposit and withdrawal alike. There is nothing to optimise here: pick the route that suits your bank, and note that the only method able to pay you within the hour is the one you cannot use to deposit.

Bally’s describes “round-the-clock support” in its FAQ and, on a different page, support teams “ready throughout the day” – two different claims about the same service. There is no published email response target and no help centre in the ordinary sense: the Help & Support link goes into the same single-page application as everything else, and returns nothing without a login.
The escalation path to the AGCO is not set out anywhere on the public site.
The Bally Bet App
The app is comfortably the strongest part of this product, and its ratings say so.

That 4.6 on iOS is the second-highest we have measured in the province, behind BetRivers at 4.8 and ahead of Betano. It is published by Bally’s Corporation, needs iOS 17 or later, and runs to 129 MB. Sportsbook and casino sit in one app rather than two.
One detail worth knowing: the MONOPOLY Casino & Sportsbook app, also registered to Bally’s Canada Inc. in the Ontario register, carried the identical version number as Bally Bet when we checked. The two brands run on the same codebase. If you have used one, you have effectively used the other.
Underneath, the platform is supplied by White Hat Gaming – the application identifies itself as brand 153 on White Hat’s Canadian platform. Bally’s operates the licence; the technology is somebody else’s.
Responsible Gambling
Bally’s publishes a responsible gaming section and an internal team, and the tools cover the basics: deposit and spend limits, session reminders, and account breaks. Cooling-off periods for limit increases are not documented publicly.
The ConnexOntario line – 1-866-531-2600 – appears in the footer of every page, which is the standard and correct placement.
What is missing is BetGuard. Ontario’s centralised exclusion scheme, which blocks a player from every licensed operator in the province at once, is not mentioned anywhere on Bally Bet’s public site. 888 puts a BetGuard link in the header of every page and publishes a help article explaining the exclusion terms. A Bally Bet player who wants a province-wide exclusion has to know BetGuard exists and find it themselves.
Geolocation
Bally Bet states the requirement – you must be physically in Ontario, and an account created elsewhere cannot be funded until you arrive – but publishes nothing about how it checks.
No geolocation vendor is named. There is no troubleshooting article, no statement on VPN or remote-desktop software, and no explanation of what to do when a location check fails. Every other operator in this group publishes at least something. Compare 888, which names the specific software it blocks and warns that a high floor in a tall building can defeat the Wi-Fi check.
Security and Reputation
Final Verdict
Bally Bet has the best paperwork in Ontario and the worst housekeeping.
The registration is exemplary. A registration number on every page, an Ontario company at an Ontario address, a company number you can look up, both verticals authorised – nobody else here gives you that much to check. The app is excellent, the casino catalogue is genuinely Bally’s own rather than a rebadged shelf, and the commitment to no winnings caps and no withdrawal fees is a real promise plainly made.
Then you read the small print. The helpline number is wrong on all 37 game pages. The terms of service cannot be read at all without running the app. None of that is about odds or payouts – it is about whether anyone is checking.
