Ten sportsbooks, ranked. Not by who pays us the most, and not by brand recognition – by eight things we counted ourselves on each book’s Ontario product: how many sports it carries, how deep the markets go, what live betting looks like, how the app is rated, what the cashier publishes, how you reach support, how much the site tells you before you register, and who holds the licence.

The ranking is our editorial judgement, but it is not a matter of taste. It starts from the rating on our own review of each book and is settled, within each rating, by the figures we counted. Where a book is ahead, we say by how much. Where it is behind, we say that too, in the same sentence.
This page will change. Boards are re-counted when a review is updated, apps are re-read on both stores, and a book that ships a broken release will move down. The last full pass was 10 September 2026, against an iGaming Ontario register dated 1 September 2026.
It is also deliberately short on names. There are 35 registered sportsbooks in the province, and our full Ontario sportsbooks comparison lists every one we have opened. Ten is what survives the criteria.

This is the table to read first. It is our ranking, on the criteria set out below – our #1 is the book that leads our own measurements, not a consensus pick and not the book that pays us most. Each row carries the single number that earned the position, so the ordering is auditable rather than asserted.

Two rows deserve a warning rather than a footnote. BetVictor is fifth on the strength of the widest board in the province, and its Android app is rated 2.5 – a 2.20-point drop from its 4.70 on iPhone, the largest gap we measured. Pinnacle is tenth with no app at all; it is a browser product, and if you bet on a phone that is disqualifying rather than inconvenient.
1. bet365
The most-scrutinised betting app in Ontario, and it holds up: 4.70 from 177,001 iPhone ratings, more than the next three books combined. A high score on a sample that size is a different claim from a high score on a hundred.
The board runs 27+ sports with 12-leg parlays and six-player combinations. Deposits start at $10, though PayPal carries a $40 floor – one of the few books that publishes the difference. Support is live chat only.
2. Betano
When we looked, Betano had 156 matches running live at the same time. Nothing else we opened came close, and in-play volume is the hardest thing for a book to fake.
Thirty sports, a $5 minimum deposit over Interac – the lowest entry point on this list – and five million-plus Android installs. The iPhone app sits at 4.58 and the Android at 4.3.
3. DraftKings
Every other book on this list is better on one store than the other. DraftKings is rated 4.68 on iPhone and 4.7 on Android, the only Ontario book that holds up on both, across five million-plus installs.
It is also the only Ontario book we found streaming the NFL. If you watch what you bet on, that is a decisive fact rather than a feature line.
4. theScore Bet
A Canadian product where the app is the point rather than an afterthought: 182 competitions across 21 sports, and streaming across 150,000+ events a year.
The iPhone app is rated 4.74 from 29,124 ratings – second only to bet365 on that combination of score and sample. Deposits start at $10 on every published method.
5. BetVictor
The widest board in the province: 44 sports, against a field where 30 is a good number and 6 is a real one. On a routine MLB game we counted 275 markets, second only to NorthStar.
The Android app is the problem, and it is a serious one: 2.5, against 4.70 on iPhone. Bet this book on an iPhone or in a browser.
6. NorthStar Bets
Depth over breadth, and the margin is not close. On one MLB game we counted around 400 markets – the most of any book on this list, and roughly four times what NEO.bet prices on the same fixture.
It publishes a phone line, which only a handful of Ontario books do. The app is the weak point at 3.56 on iPhone, from 397 ratings.
7. Bet99
A Canadian-built book carrying 30 sports and 75,000+ events, with the marketing and the sponsorships pointed squarely at this market.
The entry price is the highest here – $20 on any method – and the Android app is rated 3.2 against 4.15 on iPhone. Support runs on live chat alone.
8. FanDuel
4.78 on iPhone from 44,477 ratings: the highest score of any Ontario app measured on a genuinely large sample, and the reason this book ranks where it does.
Sportsbook, casino and poker sit on one account and one wallet. The Android app is the weaker half at 4.1.
9. BetRivers
The highest-rated iPhone app in Ontario at 4.80 – though from 4,111 ratings rather than bet365’s 177,001, which is why it sits here and not at the top.
It publishes chat, email and a phone line – one of ten books on our reviewed list to carry all three – and the Android app holds at 4.4.
10. Pinnacle
The specialist’s entry, and the one with the sharpest trade-off on this page. Pinnacle prices ~1,700 events across 21 sports on low margins, and publishes a policy of not limiting winning accounts – rare enough in this market to be the whole argument for using it.
There is no app, on either store. It is a browser book, and it does not publish a minimum deposit.

Every book here carries a published score out of 5 on each category its review measures – regulation, sports, payments, app and support. Those scores are multiplied by the weights above and combined, which is how a position is arrived at rather than asserted. The scores are in the table below, and each one is repeated in the review it came from, so you can check any of them against the evidence that produced it. Where two books combine to the same figure, the counted numbers decide – markets on a comparable fixture, events live at once, and how much of the product is readable before you register.

Two rules sit above the weights. A book with no measured figure on a criterion scores nothing there rather than an assumed average – which is why two books with excellent apps rank below one with a weaker app and a much deeper board. And no criterion rewards an incentive, because Ontario’s advertising standards do not allow it.
Sports Coverage
We count entries in the book’s own A-Z, by hand, and never the number on a marketing page. Pinnacle documents 33 sports in its rulebook and carried 21 on the Ontario board; that gap is exactly why we count.
Boards on this list run from 21 to 44. Across everything we have reviewed the range is wider still – 6 to 44.
Betting Markets
The heaviest weight, because it is where books separate most. Same sport, same night, four books: ~400 markets at NorthStar, 275 at BetVictor, 177-219 at TonyBet, ~110 at NEO.bet.
Moneyline, spread and totals are everywhere and score nothing. Player props, alternate lines and same-game parlays are what the 20% is measuring.
Live Betting
Scored on how much runs at once and whether you can watch it. Betano carried 156 live matches simultaneously; DraftKings is the only book we found streaming the NFL; theScore Bet streams 150,000+ events a year.
Every registered book offers in-play. Almost none of them publish how much.
Mobile Experience
A rating is worthless without its sample, so we weight one by the other. 4.80 from 4,111 ratings is a weaker claim than 4.70 from 177,001, and this is the criterion that put bet365 above BetRivers.
We also read both stores. Three registered books have no Android app, and the largest iOS-to-Android gap we measured was 2.20 points. The full table is in our guide to Ontario betting apps.
Payment Options
Scored on what the cashier publishes, not on how many logos sit in the footer. A book that states its minimum, its ceiling and its payout window scores above one that hides all three behind a login.

User Experience
Kept deliberately narrow, because it is the easiest thing to score on vibes: how fast you can reach a market, and how much the book tells you before you register.

Customer Support
Live chat is standard and earns little. Email is common. A published phone line is rare enough to be the differentiator, and it carries most of this 5%.
Ontario has 35 registered sportsbooks, and we have reviewed 34 of them so far. Of those 34, ten publish a phone number – BetMGM, NorthStar Bets, BetRivers, PowerPlay, ToonieBet, PointsBet, Caesars, 888sport, Betinia and Swiper. Others run on chat alone; one runs on a single email address.
Regulation and Safety
Every book here appears on the iGaming Ontario register – that is a gate, not a score. The points are for what the site does beyond the minimum: naming the company that holds the registration, publishing the number, and getting the helpline right.

The ranking above is a general answer. These are the specific ones, and each is held to the same rule: a measured reason, or it does not appear.
Best Sportsbook for Hockey Betting
bet365, on parlay depth – 12-leg parlays and six-player combinations, which is what an NHL slate invites. For breadth of hockey competitions rather than depth on one game, BetVictor’s 44-sport board is the wider net.
Best Sportsbook for Soccer Betting
888sport, which prices 105 soccer competitions – the largest count we recorded. ComeOn!, at 31 sports on a European-built board, is the alternative if you bet outside the major leagues.
Best Sportsbook for Basketball Betting
PowerPlay, at 200+ markets on a single NBA game. Worth checking the WNBA board separately: the Toronto Tempo are new enough that depth still varies book to book.
Best Sportsbook for Baseball Betting
NorthStar Bets, at ~400 markets on one MLB game – the deepest single-fixture board we have counted in the province, and roughly four times NEO.bet on the same game.
Best Sportsbook for Live Betting
Betano, at 156 live matches at once. If you want to watch rather than only bet, theScore Bet streams 150,000+ events a year and DraftKings is the only book here with NFL streaming.
Best Sportsbook for Mobile Betting
DraftKings, as the only major book rated well on both stores (4.68 and 4.7). On iPhone alone, BetRivers is rated highest at 4.80, and bet365 has by far the largest sample behind its 4.70.
Best Sportsbook for Payment Options
Betano, on a $5 Interac minimum and a published cashier. Caesars is the one to read if size matters at the other end – it publishes Interac e-Transfer up to $25,000.
Best Sportsbook for Experienced Bettors
Pinnacle, on low margins and a published policy of not limiting winners – with no app as the price of admission. STX, the province’s only betting exchange, is the other book where you are not paying a bookmaker’s margin. STX does not rank in our overall top ten – an exchange is measured on different things than an app-led sportsbook – but the model makes it a specialist option for bettors who already know what they are doing.
Sports Coverage Across Our Top Ten
Every registered book prices the international menu, so the question is never whether your sport is listed – it is how deep it goes once you open it.
The volume sits where the local teams are: NHL, NBA, MLB, NFL and CFL, plus soccer. Two are worth checking book by book rather than assuming – the WNBA, where the Toronto Tempo are new, and cricket, consistently underserved here relative to how much it is searched.

Best Sportsbook Payment Options
Interac e-Transfer reaches more Ontario books than any other method and is what most of this list leads with. Cards are near-universal for deposits and narrower for withdrawals.
iDebit is the one worth knowing about: a Canadian bank-to-book route that only a minority of registered books carry, and one of the most-searched methods in the province. PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are carried by fewer books than most people assume.

Best Legal Sportsbooks in Ontario
All ten are registered with iGaming Ontario, which is the only list that settles the question. That is the entry requirement for this page rather than a distinction.
Check it yourself before depositing anywhere: search the brand in the register, read the company name above it, and confirm what it is licensed for. It takes a minute, and it is the one check that separates a regulated book from a lookalike.

The register is bigger than the ten here. On 1 September 2026 it listed 49 operators running 84 gaming sites, 35 of them licensed for sport and event betting. Ten is what survives the criteria, not what exists.

Check Sports Coverage
Open the A-Z and count. The number on the marketing page and the number on the board are frequently not the same, and the board is the one you get.
Compare Betting Markets
Pick one fixture you would actually bet and open it at two books. The difference between ~400 markets and ~110 on the same game is visible in thirty seconds.
Look at Live Betting
Check the in-play tab on a busy evening, not a quiet afternoon. What matters is how much is running at once and whether there is a stream attached.
Check the Mobile Experience
Read both store listings before installing, and read the sample size next to the rating. Check the Android score separately – one book on this page drops 2.20 points between stores.
Review Payment Options
Find the minimum, the withdrawal ceiling and the payout window before you register. If a book will not publish them, that is your answer about the cashier.
Verify Regulatory Status
Search the brand in the iGaming Ontario register and read the company name above it. If the site will not tell you which company holds its registration, the register will.
Compare Overall User Experience
How long does it take to find one market you want? A book that buries its rules and its limits behind a login will not get simpler once you have deposited.
