Betway Ontario Review 2026: A Global Book With No Paperwork

How We Checked Betway

Betway is one of the largest betting brands in the world and one of the quietest documents in Ontario. Almost everything below comes from something the company published itself – it just took some hunting to find where.

• The legal position comes from the public iGaming Ontario register, filtered by legal entity.
• The corporate details come from the footer Betway prints on every Ontario page, which names the company, its number and its registered address.
• The casino counts are ours: 228 game tiles read off the public Ontario shelf, each one tagged with its studio.
• App figures come from Apple’s and Google’s Canadian listings, read in August 2026, alongside the competing Ontario apps for scale.
• The group figures come from Super Group’s 6-K filed with the SEC on 4 August 2026 – the parent company’s own numbers, not an estimate.
• The Ontario Terms and Conditions are not quoted here, because we could not open them. That is a finding, and it has its own section.

Is Betway Legal in Ontario?

Yes. Betway is listed in the iGaming Ontario register under Cadway Limited, registered for both Casino and Sports Betting, with betway.ca as the site declared to the regulator.

The same register holds a detail worth knowing. A sister entity, Cadtree Limited, appears immediately above it with four casino brands – Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune and Spin Casino. Those are the Spin side of the same group. Betway is the only one of the five with a sports betting licence, which tells you where the group’s Ontario sportsbook ambitions actually sit.

As with every operator we have reviewed here, no AGCO registration number is published. The regulator’s directory does not print them, and Betway does not volunteer one.

Alderney, Not Ontario

Betway does something most operators here avoid: it tells you exactly who is taking your bet. The footer of every Ontario page reads, in full:

Betway is a brand managed by Cadway Limited (2032), an Alderney Channel Islands registered company whose registered address is La Corvee House, La Corvee, Alderney, GY9 3TQ. Cadway Limited is registered and regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and operates under an agreement with iGaming Ontario.

Company number, registered address, both regulators. Bally Bet, PartySports and Betano publish their AGCO numbers on the site itself, and Sports Interaction states its licence in the first clause of its terms – but on plain corporate identification, this footer is as good as Ontario gets.

It is also, read a second time, the whole story of this operator. There is no Canadian company in that sentence. The entity that accepts a bet placed in Toronto is registered on a Channel Island of roughly two thousand people, and its second regulator sits there too. Every finding further down this page is a version of the same fact.

The footer carries one more thing worth a glance: it is dated “Copyright © 2023 Betway”. Three years stale, on every page of the Ontario site.

The Terms That Do Not Open

This is the finding that shapes the score, so here is exactly what we did.

Betway’s Ontario help centre has a footer with links to its own policies. We clicked them.

The cause is mundane. Ontario’s pages live under /ca-on/en-ca/; these links were written for other paths and never updated. The effect is not mundane at all: the document that governs your account is unreachable from the page Betway built to answer your questions.

So we went round the front, to the canonical address – and found something stranger.

Loading betway.ca/ca-on/en-ca/dyn/TermsAndConditions does not produce terms. It produces the sportsbook lobby. The same is true of /dyn/Responsible_Gaming. We repeated both from two countries and four times over, and got the lobby every time.

The Sportsbook

Underneath the paperwork is a serious book. The A-Z menu on the Ontario lobby carries a long list of sports, sixteen of them with live markets:

Aussie Rules, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, E-Leagues, Esports, Field Hockey, Football, Formula 1, Futsal, Gaelic Sports, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Hockey, Motor Sport, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Soccer, Table Tennis, Tennis, UFC / Martial Arts and Volleyball.

Two things stand out in that list. Gaelic sports and greyhounds are British and Irish inheritances that most Ontario books do not carry. And the CFL was sitting in the main grid on the day we looked – Montreal at Winnipeg, Hamilton at Calgary – beside the MLB and the Premier League rather than buried under “more sports”, which is not always the case in this market.

The esports section is genuinely stocked rather than decorative. It opened on six League of Legends leagues – LEC, LPL, LCK, LCS, CBLOL and LFL – plus VCT Pacific and VCT Americas for Valorant, with named fixtures underneath. What Betway does not do is publish a list of the titles it books; that remains BET99‘s distinction. Betway shows you what is running today and leaves you to infer the rest.

The headline feature on the lobby is Bet Builder (“Combine Game Game Parlays From Multiple Games”).

The Casino

We counted every tile on the public Ontario casino shelf. There were 228 games with a named studio, and the distribution is unlike anything else we have measured in this province.

More than half the shelf comes from one supplier. Games Global is the studio formerly known as Microgaming, and the Super Group grew up inside that ecosystem – so this is less a purchasing decision than a family arrangement.

The second number is the one to notice: not a single game on that shelf is from Evolution. Evolution supplies the live tables at very nearly every other Ontario operator we have reviewed. Here the live floor belongs to On Air Entertainment and Playtech Live, and Betway has put its own name on it – thirteen games carry the brand in the title:

Betway Roulette, Betway Blackjack 1 and 2, Betway Speed Baccarat, Betway MegaMoolah Blackjack, Betway Williams Roulette, Betway Diamond Rush Roulette, and three sport-themed wheels – Betway Ice Hockey Roulette, Betway Cricket Roulette and Betway Basketball Roulette – plus Betway Branded Mines, Betway Fire Joker and Betway Big Bass Splash.

Branded tables are usually the preserve of the very largest operators. Only Play Fallsview and NorthStar Bets have anything comparable in our reviews, and neither has thirteen of them.

The shelf is also unusually wide in the odd corners: Slingo (17 titles), Bingo, Crash Games, Stepper Slots, Bonus Buys and two running tournaments with their own rows.

And one detail that says more than it looks: all 336 images on the Ontario casino shelf are served from content.betwayarabia1.com – the content domain of Betway’s Arabian operation. Nothing breaks because of it. It is simply the signature of one global platform serving every market from the same shelf.

Payment Methods

Betway publishes its payment methods the way a shop publishes them: as a row of logos in the footer, with nothing written next to them.

The ten, in the order they appear: Visa, Mastercard, Interac, paysafecard, MuchBetter, Payz, ecoVoucher, Flexepin, iDebit and InstaDebit.

Interac is there, third in the row, which matters – it is the method most Ontario players will use. But look at the company it keeps. paysafecard, MuchBetter, Payz (formerly ecoPayz), ecoVoucher and Flexepin are instruments of the international online-gambling circuit, not of Canadian retail banking. No other operator in our reviews leads with that many of them.

And then the gap. There is no minimum, no maximum, no processing time and no fee published anywhere – not for Interac, not for anything. There is no banking page. The cashier is behind registration. Compare that with what we could read at the same effort elsewhere: bet365 publishes a full table of methods, floors, ceilings and payout windows; Caesars publishes Interac limits to the dollar; Betano publishes nine methods and states its fees are zero.

Here, a player has to open an account to find out how much they are allowed to withdraw.

Customer Support

There is a help centre, and it is properly built – a search box and sixteen categories covering deposits, withdrawals, verification documents, source of funds, geolocation, two-step authentication, esports and responsible gambling.

What there is not, anywhere, is a channel written down. No telephone number. No email address. No published response time. The site loads a live chat widget – it runs on Genesys Cloud, which is a serious contact-centre platform rather than a bolt-on – so chat exists. It is simply never stated as a promise.

That puts Betway at the closed end of a market that is mostly closed. BetMGM is one of six operators in our reviews that publish a telephone number, alongside BetRivers, Caesars, 888sport, PowerPlay and NorthStar Bets, whose toll-free line is answered around the clock. But bet365 at least publishes a postal address, and Sports Interaction runs a dedicated Ontario help centre whose articles open.

The Betway Apps

The apps are the strongest thing Betway has in Ontario, and the most revealing.

71,810 Canadian ratings puts the Betway sportsbook second in this market, behind bet365‘s 176,037 and and ahead of FanDuel and DraftKings. On raw installed base, this is one of the biggest betting apps in the country.

The date underneath it is the catch. Betway has been on the Canadian App Store since September 2014 – seven and a half years before the regulated market opened in April 2022. Every competitor in that comparison arrived in 2022 or later: bet365 and theScore in March 2022, FanDuel, BetMGM and BetRivers in April, DraftKings in May, BetVictor and Betano in October, BET99 and Sports Interaction in 2023. Betway’s counter includes the grey-market years; theirs do not. It is a real number attached to a longer history, not a like-for-like lead.

Three things confirm this is the world app with Ontario inside it rather than an Ontario app:

• It ships in 20 languages, including Bengali, Telugu, Hindi, Japanese and Latvian.
• The bundle is com.betway.sportsbetting, with no country marker – against bet365’s com.bet365.bet365CA, FanDuel’s com.fanduel.sportsbook.ca, BetRivers’ com.rushstreetinteractive.on.ri and BetMGM’s on.betmgm.sports.
• The publisher is Digital Outsource International Limited, not a Canadian entity.

And then there is what the Canadian listing says. Two lines, quoted exactly:

“If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, please seek help by visiting the following links: National Council on Problem Gambling: https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/national-helpline-1-800-522-4700/”

An app sold to Ontario players sends them to the terms of the global .com site – over plain http://, with no encryption – and, for help with a gambling problem, to the United States national helpline. Not ConnexOntario, whose number Betway’s own website prints correctly on every page.

The same listing advertises “Evolution roulette”, “Lightning Roulette” and live Texas Hold’em. None of those appears on the Ontario shelf, where Evolution supplies nothing at all.

The listing also promises live streaming of “thousands of events worldwide”. We could not confirm that for Ontario specifically, and we are not going to claim it: DraftKings remains the only operator here with in-app streaming documented for the province.

Responsible Gambling

On the visible layer, Betway does this properly.

• BetGuard – Ontario’s central self-exclusion registry – sits as a button in the top bar of the lobby, next to Login, not buried in a footer.
• The ConnexOntario line is printed correctly and completely on every page: 1-866-531-2600, 24/7, with the 247247 text line and the website.
• The footer carries the 19+ mark, the iGaming Ontario and Jeux en ligne Ontario marks, BetGuard and Garde-jeu, the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and an eCOGRA ADR seal.
• The help centre links an audit certificate hosted on the group’s own domain. It is a real PDF – it is also password-protected, so we cannot tell you what it certifies.
• The Responsible Gaming page itself does not open. The address returns the betting lobby, exactly like the Terms.

That last line is the one that costs. Getting the helpline right on every page and then serving a betting lobby to someone who clicks “Responsible Gambling” undoes a good deal of the work.

We should be fair about the comparison. Bally Bet prints a helpline number that reaches the wrong service, which is worse. Betway’s number is right; it is the page behind the link that is missing.

What the Parent Company Reports

Betway’s owner is Super Group (SGHC) Limited, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, which means the numbers are filed rather than claimed. From the 6-K of 4 August 2026:

• Group revenue of $684 million in the quarter, up 18%, with profit of $123 million and $548 million in cash.
• Full-year 2026 guidance raised to more than $2.6 billion.
• Ranked fifth in the EGR Power 50.

Then the regional table, in millions of dollars:

The release credits its growth to “Africa, Europe and Rest of World”. America – the segment Ontario sits inside – is the only one that shrank.

Two more lines from the same document. The chief executive describes the business as “casino-led“, and the split backs him: in the international segment, iGaming brought in $325 million against the sportsbook’s $42 million – close to eight to one. And the filing announces Betway’s new partnership with Manchester United, while the Ontario footer was still listing Arsenal, Manchester City, Brighton and Bournemouth on the day we read it.

The last observation is the simplest. The words “Canada” and “Ontario” do not appear once in the entire release. The group does not break the country out. For a company this size, this province is not yet a line worth reporting.

Final Verdict

Betway gives an Ontario player a genuinely large operation: a broad A-Z sports menu with the CFL in the main grid, an esports section stocked with real leagues, Bet Builder on the front page, a 228-game casino shelf with Slingo and bingo in the corners, thirteen live tables with the house’s own name on them, ten payment methods including Interac, BetGuard in the top bar, the ConnexOntario line printed correctly everywhere, and the second-most-rated betting app in the country. It also tells you precisely which company is taking your bet, which more operators should do.

What it does not give you is the paperwork. The Terms and Conditions do not open. Neither does the Responsible Gaming page. Links in its own help centre footer return 404. No deposit or withdrawal limit is published anywhere. No phone number, no email address, no response time. The app you install was built for the world, points you at .com terms over unencrypted http, and refers a problem gambler in Ontario to an American helpline.

None of that makes Betway unsafe. It is registered with iGaming Ontario, regulated in two jurisdictions, audited by eCOGRA, and owned by a company that files quarterly with the SEC. But there is a difference between an operator that is accountable and one that is legible, and Betway is currently only the first.

If size and product are what you want, this is one of the deepest offerings in the province. If you want to read the rules before you agree to them, bet365 documents its cashier to a standard nobody here matches, and Sports Interaction puts its licence number in the first clause of terms that actually load.

Overall we place Betway at 3.5 out of 5 for Ontario.

We repeated both from two countries and four times over, and got the lobby every time.

• How do I contact Betway support in Ontario?

  Through the help centre, which has sixteen categories and loads a live chat widget running on Genesys Cloud. Betway publishes no telephone number, no email address and no response time for Ontario. BetMGM remains the only operator in our reviews with a published phone line.

• Is the Betway app the same one used in other countries?

Alternatives to Betway

Betway is a global brand with an Ontario licence, a big product and a thin paper trail. If the paper trail is what you are missing, three names in our table do the same job with the documents attached.
