FanDuel Canada ULC holds three iGaming Ontario authorisations – sportsbook, casino and poker – and ships the best-rated betting app in the province. It also publishes no licence number, no telephone line, and two different answers to how long a withdrawal takes.
How We Checked FanDuel
This review is built on primary sources only. FanDuel’s Ontario lobby is a single-page app that will not render without a session, so we worked from the documents the operator itself publishes, read from a Canadian connection.
That distinction between Canadian and American articles matters more here than at any other Ontario book. FanDuel runs one help centre for the whole of North America, and the default view is the US one. Several of the rules below are the opposite of what an American FanDuel customer reads.
Is FanDuel Legal in Ontario?
Yes. FanDuel appears in the iGaming Ontario register under the legal entity FanDuel Canada ULC, with three separate authorisations – Casino, Poker and Sports Betting – and three registered gaming sites.
The terms make the arrangement explicit: FanDuel is “appointed and authorized by iGaming Ontario to operate such Games and the Websites on behalf of and as agent for iGaming Ontario”, and your money is held “in a separate account held by FC as agent on behalf of and for the sole benefit of iGaming Ontario“. You must be 19 or older and physically in the province.

Two caveats belong here rather than buried further down.
First, FanDuel does not publish an AGCO registration number anywhere. We searched the entire Ontario terms document for “OPIG”, “registration number” and “licence number” and found nothing; fanduel.ca does not carry one either, and the AGCO itself does not run a searchable public register. A number circulates on affiliate sites. It is not verifiable against a primary source, so we do not repeat it. FanDuel is in good company here – bet365 publishes no number either – but it is the opposite of what Betano does, printing its number and both licence dates in the footer of every page.
Second, the register and the terms disagree about the sportsbook address. iGaming Ontario lists on.sportsbook.fanduel.ca; FanDuel’s own terms define the “FanDuel Sportsbook Website” as www.sportsbook.fanduel.ca. Both resolve, and the institutional site at fanduel.ca links to the second.
Note also what is not licensed here. Daily Fantasy, FanDuel Racing, Faceoff and Predicts are all absent from the Ontario list. In this province FanDuel is a sportsbook, a casino and a poker room, and nothing else.
FanDuel Sports Betting
FanDuel’s Ontario House Rules are thorough on settlement and thin on ceilings. That combination shapes what follows.
Same Game Parlay and SGP+
SGP combines two or more selections from one game or from correlated games; SGP+ extends that across several games in one slip. Eligible markets carry an SGP icon.
The settlement rule is the good news. If a leg is voided, the odds are recalculated using the remaining legs rather than the whole slip dying – the same treatment a normal parlay gets. Parlays built on related contingencies are refused, sometimes automatically at the point of placement, and a dead heat in one leg reduces the parlay stake proportionally.
What FanDuel does not publish is a maximum. Neither the help article nor the Ontario House Rules state how many legs an SGP or SGP+ will take. bet365 prints hard numbers for exactly this – 12 selections, 6 players per team – and the contrast is not flattering.
Cash Out
Cash Out is offered on selected bets and is visible before you place: eligible slips show a grey CASH OUT box. The figure shown is what you receive, and it lands instantly as winnings.
Availability comes and goes – FanDuel names pitching changes, injuries and dead time between plays as moments when the option disappears – and the terms state outright that the operator “cannot guarantee the availability at all times of the Cash Out functionality, even where the functionality has been advertised in connection with a particular event”.
Note also that there is no cancelling a bet here at all: once placed, a wager cannot be voided by the customer.
The Ceiling Is a Million – in US Dollars
Part B of the Ontario House Rules sets the maximum payout: “For all events offered, the maximum winning limit per bet (e.g., straight, parlay, SGP, or other) is $1 million US Dollars.”
That is a generous ceiling by any standard. It is also, in a document written for Ontario players who deposit and are paid in Canadian dollars, denominated in a foreign currency. We quote it exactly as published because the currency is the interesting part.
On live betting, the terms are conventional: odds moves before confirmation give you the choice to accept or withdraw unless you have opted into automatic acceptance, palpable pricing errors are settled at the correct price, and bets placed after an outcome is known are void.
One absence deserves a flag. FanDuel publishes nothing about live streaming in Ontario. No article in the 398-item help library mentions it, the terms never use the word, and neither Canadian store listing advertises it. What exists is a Bet & Watch partnership with TSN – which is watching on TSN, not streaming inside the app.
The Casino and the Poker Room
FanDuel publishes no casino supplier list for Ontario. The lobby at casino.fanduel.ca is a single-page app that returns an empty page without a session, there is no provincial help centre to fall back on, and the Canadian App Store listing names individual games rather than the studios behind them. So we are not going to tell you who supplies the slots: FanDuel has not said, and inferring it from game titles would not be reporting.
The one third-party product FanDuel does name is the poker room. It runs as PokerStars on FanDuel and appears under that name in the iGaming Ontario registration – the only outside brand in the whole FanDuel Ontario stack. The sportsbook is FanDuel’s own platform.
Payment Methods
The Ontario cashier is short. Four ways in, and one of the four is a route American FanDuel customers are not allowed to use.

Credit cards are accepted in Ontario and banned in the United States. FanDuel’s own words: “Credit card deposits and withdrawals are not accepted for FanDuel Sportsbook, Casino, Racing, Predicts, or PokerStars on FanDuel in the United States.” Canadian players get a funding route their American counterparts do not – which cuts both ways, since a credit card is the most expensive way to fund a betting account.
Three limits are published and none of them are obvious:
FanDuel charges no deposit or withdrawal fees. It does charge for chargebacks – a figure that used to sit in the Ontario terms of service, which are now behind a login, so we can no longer point you at the number. Do not start a chargeback with your bank as a way of getting money back: contact support first.
Withdrawals: Two Official Answers
Most withdrawal methods only work if you deposited with them first. Online banking is the exception. Interac and credit card payouts are marked Canada-only; Apple Pay, Play+ and cash at counter are American features that do not exist here, and the help centre now says outright that “Venmo is currently unavailable in Canada”. FanDuel also warns that some issuers – it names Capital One, Mastercard and American Express – may block withdrawals to their cards entirely.
FanDuel publishes Canadian withdrawal timeframes in two separate articles, and they do not match.

Both articles agree on the part that applies to everyone: every withdrawal is reviewed before it is sent, most within 24 hours, and a first withdrawal can take up to 48. The contract adds a backstop of “commercially reasonable efforts to process your withdrawal request within 5 working days”.
Against that documentation, both Canadian app listings promise “payouts in as little as 2 hours”. No help article supports it. The fastest figure FanDuel publishes anywhere for Canada is 24 hours for the review alone, and 48 for a first withdrawal. Treat the store copy as marketing.
For comparison, bet365 pays Interac withdrawals in one to four hours and Apple Pay instantly. On payout speed this is not a close contest.
The Ontario Wallet, and Why It Traps Money
This is the part of FanDuel Canada that catches people out, and it is documented in plain language.
FanDuel holds separate provincial licences in Ontario and Alberta, so your balance lives in a province-specific wallet. Money deposited in Alberta stays in the Alberta wallet; money deposited in Ontario stays in the Ontario wallet. In FanDuel’s words, “funds cannot be transferred or used across provinces”. There is a province selector in the app footer purely so you can withdraw from the wallet you are not currently using.
The same wall exists at the border. Canadian and US FanDuel accounts are entirely separate, and you cannot log into your Canadian account while travelling in the United States – not even in a state where FanDuel is legal.
Neither rule is a criticism of the operator; both follow from how the licences work. But they are the sort of thing you want to know before you move to Calgary with a balance in Toronto.
The FanDuel Apps
Two Ontario-facing apps, both on dedicated Canadian bundle identifiers – com.fanduel.sportsbook.ca and com.fanduel.casino.ca – rather than global builds with a flag on them.

The sportsbook app’s 4.78 across 43,517 Canadian ratings is the third-largest rated user base we have measured at an Ontario operator – behind bet365‘s 176,037 and Betway‘s 71,810 – and the score sits near the very top of the market, above bet365’s 4.7. The 0.7-point gap down to Google Play is wide, though, and it is worth knowing which platform you are joining on.
One oddity: the publisher on both stores is FanDuel, Inc., sold by FanDuel Limited – never FanDuel Canada ULC, the entity actually registered with iGaming Ontario. The help centre footer says the same thing in a different way, carrying the line “© Betfair Interactive US LLC, 2026”. Nothing about that is improper. It does mean that, unlike Bet99, you cannot cross-check the Ontario entity through the app stores.
Customer Support
Support is written-only, and the published hours apply to less of it than you would assume.

Read that first row carefully. The 8:00-24:00 ET window is published for social media, not for live chat, and FanDuel states no hours for chat at all. We are not going to claim 24/7 support on a schedule the operator has not published.
There is no customer service telephone number. The only numbers FanDuel publishes for Ontario are ConnexOntario’s, which is a responsible gambling helpline, not an account line. If a dispute is not resolved, the escalation path is iGaming Ontario’s player support page.
Responsible Gambling and Account Limits
This is FanDuel’s strongest section, and the tooling is genuinely deeper than most of the province.

Two things make this work in practice. Limits apply across every FanDuel product on the same account, so a capped sportsbook player cannot leak into the casino. And lowering a limit is immediate, while raising or removing one requires a cooling-off period of 3 days for daily, 7 for weekly and 31 for monthly.
There is one gap. FanDuel’s timeout article states that “different time periods apply in Louisiana, Kansas, and Ontario” – and then does not say what Ontario’s periods are. The durations sit behind the login on the Ontario Patron Protection page. An operator that flags a provincial difference should publish the difference.
BetGuard, Ontario’s province-wide self-exclusion register, covers every registered operator including this one. Accounts go dormant after 36 months without a login.
Geolocation: Use Wi-Fi, Not Ethernet
FanDuel uses GeoComply. We can say that with confidence because the download links on its own plugin page point at ums.geocomply.com, and the Ontario build is named FanDuel ON.
The requirements differ by product in a way worth knowing before you sit down:
That last one is the most practical sentence in FanDuel’s entire help centre, and we have not seen another Ontario operator publish it. A desktop plugged into a router is the most stable connection in the house and the one most likely to fail the check.
Two further clauses from the terms: a valid mobile number is mandatory at registration, and without opting into location verification you cannot reach the betting menus at all. And FanDuel retains your location data for ten years before deleting it, which you consent to by playing.
Security and Reputation
The pattern is consistent: FanDuel is excellent at player protection and careless about editorial consistency. Nothing we found suggests bad faith. It suggests a North American help centre that has outgrown the team maintaining it.
Final Verdict
FanDuel is the safest-feeling operator in Ontario and the least precise one.
What you get is a genuinely serious set of account controls – five kinds of limit, a reality check, a time cap, all applied across sportsbook, casino and poker at once – plus one of the best-rated Canadian apps in the market, a $1 million payout ceiling, and a credit card funding route that FanDuel’s own American customers are not allowed to use.
What you do not get is anyone to phone, a licence number to verify, a published SGP ceiling, live streaming, or a single consistent answer on how long a withdrawal takes.

Overall we place FanDuel at 4.0 out of 5 for Ontario bettors.
Who it suits: app-first bettors, anyone who wants real control over their own limits, and casino players who would rather not install a geolocation plugin. Who it does not: anyone who needs money out the same day, anyone who wants a phone line, and parlay builders who want to know the ceiling before they start stacking legs.
