This odds calculator converts American, decimal and fractional odds and shows the payout, the profit and the implied probability of any bet as you type.

Total payout–
Profit–
Implied probability–
American–
Decimal–
Fractional–
Optional: the other side of the bet
Book’s margin–
Fair chance (no vig)–
Fair odds (no vig)–
Expected value per $100–
Stake needed to win that amount–
Payout on that stake–

Type the odds as your sportsbook shows them. Add the other side of the same market – the other team’s money line, or the other side of a spread or total – to see the book’s margin and the fair odds with the margin removed.

19+. For information only: your sportsbook's bet slip is what counts. Ontario books may round displayed odds; the payout is worked out on the unrounded price.

How to Use the Odds Calculator

  1. Pick the format your sportsbook shows. Ontario books display American odds by default; decimal, fractional and an implied probability (%) also work.
  2. Type the odds and your stake exactly as shown: -130, +150, 1.77, 10/13 or EVEN; for "20 to 1", choose Fractional and type 20/1. The payout includes your stake; the profit does not.
  3. Read the conversion in the results, or switch the format menu and the odds you typed are rewritten in the new format.
  4. Optional: add the other side of the same bet to see the book's margin, the fair chance and the fair odds, or an amount you want to win to get the stake it takes.

The other-side fields show what no sportsbook prints: how much margin is built into the two prices, and what the odds would be with it removed.

From -1000 to +1000 the implied chance falls from 90.9% to 9.1%, and +100 (EVEN) at 2.00 is the midpoint, where $10 returns exactly $20.00. The fractions are the exact equivalent of each American price; for the awkward ones the calculator shows the nearest simple fraction instead, so -105 appears as 18/19 and -115 as 13/15.

How to Read "X to 1" Odds

"X to 1" is the profit you win for every $1 you stake, with your $1 returned on top: at 20 to 1, $1 wins $20 and pays back $21, and $10 wins $200 and pays back $210. It is the fractional price 20/1 read out loud. For any X to 1, the American price is X times 100 (+2000) and the decimal price is X + 1 (21.00).

Prices of "X to Y" work the same way: 11 to 4 (11/4) wins $11 for every $4 staked, so $10 wins $27.50. Odds-on prices put the smaller number first: 2 to 9 (2/9) wins $2 for every $9, and 4 to 5 (4/5) wins $4 for every $5.

"To" and "for" are not the same. "8 to 1" counts only the profit; "8 for 1" counts everything you get back, stake included. So 8 for 1 pays $8 for each $1, which is $7 of profit - the same as 7 to 1. A $10 bet at 8 for 1 pays $80 in total; at 8 to 1 it pays $90.

Fractional odds are rare on Ontario boards, but common in British coverage, horse racing and golf writing. Where an Ontario book offers them, they are a display setting: NorthStar Bets and PowerPlay have it, Pinnacle does not. To check an "X to 1" price in the calculator, choose Fractional and type it with a slash - 20/1, 11/4 or 2/9 - or type Evens; it does not read "20 to 1" or "20-1" as words.

Evens (+100, 2.00) is the dividing line: there, the profit equals the stake. Every price below it, such as 4/5 (-125) or 2/9 (-450), wins less than you stake, and every price above it is a plus number in American odds. By 10 to 1 the implied chance is down to 9.1%. 13 to 8 is exactly +162.5 and 2.625; the calculator rounds them to +163 and 2.63.
