Can you bet on the OHL in Ontario?

No. The AGCO's Standard 4.34 prohibits bets on minor league sports in Canada, including the Canadian Hockey League, which covers the OHL, WHL and QMJHL. No sportsbook registered with iGaming Ontario can offer OHL games.

Why is OHL betting not allowed in Ontario?

Because junior hockey players are mostly teenagers, which regulators treat as the group most exposed to match-fixing and pressure. The AGCO's betting standards name the Canadian Hockey League directly, and also require that most participants in any event be 18 or older.

Can you bet on the Memorial Cup in Ontario?

No. The Memorial Cup is the CHL's championship, played between the OHL, WHL and QMJHL champions and a host team, so it falls under the same prohibition as regular-season junior games.

Can you bet on the WHL or QMJHL in Ontario?

No. Both are CHL leagues, and the AGCO fined two operators $15,000 each in June 2023 for offering OHL, WHL and QMJHL games during the 2022-23 season.

Can you bet on the World Juniors in Ontario?

The World Junior Championship is an international under-20 tournament rather than a Canadian minor league, and most players are 18 or 19, so it meets the AGCO's rules and Ontario books may offer it. Under-18 tournaments do not meet the age test.

Why do some betting sites offer OHL odds?

Because they are not registered in Ontario. International and offshore sportsbooks follow other rules, and a site that offers you OHL odds while you are in Ontario is outside the AGCO's oversight, BetGuard self-exclusion and Ontario's player protections.

What hockey can you bet on in Ontario?

The NHL at every registered book, and at many of them the AHL, the PWHL, NCAA hockey, European leagues such as the SHL and Liiga, and international tournaments. On 15 October 2026 one Ontario board listed 762 hockey events, none of them junior.

No. OHL betting is not available in Ontario: none of the 34 sportsbooks registered with iGaming Ontario can take bets on the OHL, the WHL, the QMJHL or the Memorial Cup, because the AGCO’s betting standards name the Canadian Hockey League outright.

The rule is enforced: two operators were fined $15,000 each in 2023 for offering OHL, WHL and QMJHL games. On 15 October 2026 we read an Ontario sportsbook’s full hockey menu: 575 events across 15 leagues and countries, and not one junior game. Below is the rule, why sites offering OHL odds still turn up in search, and the hockey you can legally bet on instead.
